Cell Phone, Stencils, Collage Journal Pics

Well I tried to post in order, but it didn't work, so I had to change my heading. Sigh.... Anyhoo, my BB Curve took a dump big time yesterday. That is not good when you are talking to the Boss and he can't hear you. I had to hang up on him and call him back on the landline. As soon as that was finished I headed straight to the Big V to get a new phone, this time a BB Tour. But it seems to be getting my email this morning, after staying up half the night working on it. Next is to get it to connect to my computer for a modem so when I work at a division that does not have wireless, I can get online, and that should take another couple of hours.

Next are the stencils, I bought in Irvine while there, in the largest JoAnn's I have ever been to. Those are the standing one's. The other's laying in the chair that are hard to see I bought from Tres Wishes Etsy Shop. Go check these out. (I can't paste the addy....UGH!). These are very cool.

And the last pics are two collage pages I made while gone. I am trying to make the little journal into a "Paint with Paper" only journal, like Kelly Kilmer does.

So off to work local as I have the dreaded MRI at 5:00pm. Have a great Wednesday.

Mickeyland Buses

Hi folks, I could not figure out how to get my pictures from my camera to the picture file on my new Gateway Netbook that I took to Anaheim so I had to wait til I got home to post them to my blog. So this is what I was involved in while I was in Mickeyland. We needed to hire, train and put 45 drivers in 20 of these, working from 8:00am til 2:00am everyday. We had 35 finished when I left today. Whew!! The lucky thing was another transportation company close by just had a bunch of budget cuts and had to lay off a lot of drivers and we grabbed them. They won't make as much money but this is fun!!! Pick up happy visitors from the Toy Story Parking Lot for 3000 cars and take them less than a mile to Disneyland. And pick up returning to the lot visitors and so back & forth all day and night. I had to leave today because I have an MRI scheduled tomorrow for my back. Not Good!! I need to get something done because I can't walk for long distances nor can I stand for more than 3 minutes without having spasms. I will let you know how things go. I am bushed after driving 6 hours to get home, dealing with Verizon to replace my phone that freeked out on me today and getting it to accept my emails. Long day. Off to my own bed!!! YES!!

Another Mickeyland Update

Hi from Disney Crazy Land!! I am still alive but only working 7 days a week and not doing art!!! Too exhausted when I get back to the hotel at night except to fall into bed. I am down here for at least another 2 weeks. The weather is beautiful, the traffic horrendous, and I found a small scrapbook store nearby. That would be good if I could go check it out. I also found a Barnes and Noble and a Borders close by also. Woo Hoo!! The best news is I emailed Kelly Kilmer when I got here to find out where she lives and thought we could hook up. She did email me back, but said she lives 40 + miles away. She told me about a place called the Art Bar that is in Santa Ana close by that I want to to try to go to before I go home. Hope I get to. Hang in there folks, I will be back soon!

Travel Update

No Big D!!
I am not going to Dallas on Monday as planned. Instead I am back down in Mickey World in beautiful downtown Anaheim for a month, where I spent a month last summer in an outside office in the heat, UGH! But at least it is not too hot this time of the year and I have a real inside office this time, so hopefully I can survive. Can't ya just tell how excited I am??? But when the masters of the paycheck say, "Go youngin", ya go. I was looking forward to Dallas as we would be working on a program with Drive Cam, our coach surveilance system. The meeting has been changed until May 10, and that's if another fire does not break out in the meantime that I will have to go to. But that is the name of the game when you work for the support team.

I brought my journal bag with everything I thought I might need or want for a month so I can work on stuff in the evenings and Wal Mart is just at the next exit and I know where Target is from my last visit. I have a large desk in my room so a work space is no problem. Maybe I will make a Mickey spread because EVERYTHING is Mickey here so getting cool journal stuff is no problem!
So onto big adventures at the happiest place on earth, wait that is at the park. I am not at the park, just behind the scenes working on getting folks to the park. Have a creative day.

Journey's End

Well of course Blooger put the photos in weird. I will come back to the first photo later. Just pretend like you don't see it yet. Well, here are the last 5 pages of my Moleskine Art Journal. I completed these last pages this morning because I stayed at home for a Dr Appt. I am so glad to say that I have actually made it to the end of this journey. I haven't said it is finished, because it isn't. There are still pages that are marked for reconstruction and a couple of spreads that I painted backgrounds on and left them that way. Please click on each one to see better.
But I am happy happy about this acomplishment. See the first photo of a new little journal that is so cool? I made that this last weekend with Lotus. Very fun, but it took me a while to learn how to stitch it. Word of advice; never try to learn difficult things while "Back to the Future" videos are on in the background. You will not pay attention to the teacher!! Lotus was very patient with me. The covers are varnished which means they are very shiny. Cool!
So in this small journal, I am going to try to only "paint with paper" as in collage only. No wet paint!!! Kelly Kilmer has an online workshop called A Life Made by Hand, using only collage. Fun!!
The Dr was not fun at all. I have very bad back spasms and now they want an MRI which is OK, I have had a couple but it is the laying for a long period of time on my back on a hard table that I don't need. Oh well, we'll see when the time comes.
I am off to Dallas all next week for a meeting, so please don't tell me about a great scrapbook store in Dallas, cause I will not have a chance to go. Car Pooling to and from airport only! Maybe there is a good book store at the airport. Have a great creative week.

Going in Circles

That is exactly what I feel like I have been doing lately. Work is kicking my booty. And it is not looking any better. I have to spend the day today with my Boss, and though I am looking forward to it for learning purposes, I just know it will be a challenge in other ways. Grrr!
Anyway, this pic is the last page in my journal. And i decided to go nuts, obvisiously with circles. It has been fun, I started this weekend, but now it is beginning to become boring. BUT, I will finish!
I am still debating on which journal I will start next. I am thinking another Moleskine, a watercolor one. Not as many pages but strong enough so I won't have to glue pages together.
A lady from one of my many ning groups told me that because each page is perferrated that they will tear out easily, which is true. But my firend Lotus told me to tape each one in the spine. Great idea, cause I have a TON of tape. So that may be the way I go.
I am picking up Tim Holtz new book today that I ordered. Can't wait for that. I won't get much sleep tonight as I will stay awake all night reading it.
And in the meantime, my friend Barb, http://craft-therapy.blogspot.com/ has a special package traveling her way this week. On my last post I showed you some pics of two very large eye glasses that I got. Well she expressed an interest in them and so now the yelloow pair are flying to Alabama to find a special place in Barb's studio. I am so glad, because she is so excited to get them.
And so with that, I will go get ready for the day. Have a great creative Wednesday.
