Now that I am in my "tweens" between youngster and oldster, I have landed at my true destination. <br />
This title says it all!<br />
<br />
I joined a Facebook Group about scrap room organization tips and techniques. Maybe a great idea? Or not! I am now in the middle of reorganizing my art cave! This is not an overnight fix! It calls for moving stuff out of my bedroom and then moving stuff from my art cave to my bedroom so I will have room to purge and organize! It will work out in the end! And since I forgot to take a BEFORE pic, I guess you will now have to wait for the AFTER pics!<br />
<br />
I found out I am not getting as much back in taxes this time! Very sad. That alone is going to stress me out. I needed some big bucks to do some important stuff, but will have to wait now! <br />
<br />
I attended a beautiful wedding recently! It was an amazing experience! Glad I got to go.<br />
<br />
I also acquired a flat tire a couple of weeks ago. Found it when my Hubs was going to use my car on the weekend. Got that fixed for free. :-) But then the next weekend, I got this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tIy3FQnqaYg/Uxndx5Y6Q9I/AAAAAAAACYs/JeCKovqy-ZE/s1600/Car.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tIy3FQnqaYg/Uxndx5Y6Q9I/AAAAAAAACYs/JeCKovqy-ZE/s1600/Car.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Yep, someone knocked out my back window in my car in my driveway! Well, that was a mess to say the least! Not another car was hit on our street or within 2 blocks around! They left behind a short crowbar between my front seats where it landed after it went through my window, and 3 big wrenches and a small one all laying in the back seat. There was nothing missing, and as you can see my leather coat is still hanging on my seat! They didn't even go through the glove box! Got the window replaced for $137.00! Cool!<br />
<br />
So because I was so stressed about my window, I bought myself a cool toy!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uBR4QZAgF5U/UxnfrbNVAlI/AAAAAAAACY4/3RwuzEo7-pk/s1600/Revolving+Parts+Container.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uBR4QZAgF5U/UxnfrbNVAlI/AAAAAAAACY4/3RwuzEo7-pk/s1600/Revolving+Parts+Container.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a revolving metal parts spinner. Got it at Harbor Freight for 20 bux! 18" high and 12" around. Very lightweight! Now that I am in the middle of redoing my art cave, I plan on putting this to good use. Very simple to put together, and did it all by myself! Woot!<br />
<br />
So that brings me to the art I have been doing. I am now behind in my DLP Planner. The last Friday window incident stressed me out so much, that it took a couple of days to get going again and a new challenge is posted every Saturday at 9:00am. But I have been plugging along:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hp70uTqFxAo/Uxnh0ncKNNI/AAAAAAAACZE/YdPuHYxtKuQ/s1600/Tape.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hp70uTqFxAo/Uxnh0ncKNNI/AAAAAAAACZE/YdPuHYxtKuQ/s1600/Tape.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Sideways of course! But anyway, this will be an ongoing project. I took ALL of my tape, so far, 214 rolls and cut some printer transparency sheets down to tag size and put tape samples on them, so I can throw them in the car and when I am out shopping and see tape, I can check to see if I already own it. Cool! I only found 10 doubles while doing this! This includes washi tape of course but also paper tape and plastic tape etc, so I guess decorator tapes, since it is not all of one kind! <br />
<br />
So on and on:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yaOhhu4GwxM/UxnlaYiYnvI/AAAAAAAACZQ/jxei6NngYuU/s1600/Wormhole+Queen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yaOhhu4GwxM/UxnlaYiYnvI/AAAAAAAACZQ/jxei6NngYuU/s1600/Wormhole+Queen.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a piece of Happy Mail my friend <a href="http://mysticmissive.blogspot.com/">Cheryl</a> sent me! We have learned how to draw Wormholes on Teesha Moore's excellent new fun place called the Artstronauts! It is a great doodle. Anyway, Cheryl drew this on the envelope and I thought she looked like a woman, so she is now the Queen of all Wormholes! LOL<br />
<br />
And I did this in my planner. The challenge was to use something recycled:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xsMJCw-RjHY/Uxnmr1ibV7I/AAAAAAAACZY/fLIdauSZ_UQ/s1600/Journal+Pic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xsMJCw-RjHY/Uxnmr1ibV7I/AAAAAAAACZY/fLIdauSZ_UQ/s1600/Journal+Pic.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
So the top of this page is a book spine, that I grabbed out of a LARGE bag of ephemera <a href="http://kellykilmer.blogspot.com/">Kelly Kilmer</a> brought to one of her classes. The quote, I made up with a little help of Dr Seuss at the beginning! Cool!<br />
<br />
Next is a couple of new toys:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yaPpD9c04AU/UxnntSYnDHI/AAAAAAAACZg/SxGkpM0-t7c/s1600/Pen+Spritzer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yaPpD9c04AU/UxnntSYnDHI/AAAAAAAACZg/SxGkpM0-t7c/s1600/Pen+Spritzer.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a new Tim Holtz creation! As you can see, you place a marker in it with the tip just laying on the end where the air comes out and while holding it in your hand, pump the bulb and spray ink from your marker. YAY! And the best is, there is a sleeve that slides out and you can use other size markers in it. Now I have a Copic Airbrush System, air compressor and all, but only Copic Markers can fit in it, so I don't use it a ton.<br />
<br />
And then of course, since I was picking up the Spritzer, I had to have these:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O-R_tn7KZfM/Uxnoxa3EUwI/AAAAAAAACZo/_e0QnfrHrq0/s1600/New+Stencils.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O-R_tn7KZfM/Uxnoxa3EUwI/AAAAAAAACZo/_e0QnfrHrq0/s1600/New+Stencils.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
There are only 4! LOL! 2 Dyan Reaveley and one Tim's and the vine is by Ronda Palazzari! LOVE!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b5wAg44FEcM/UxnscniFThI/AAAAAAAACZ0/kYvj6d86M_Y/s1600/Cart.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b5wAg44FEcM/UxnscniFThI/AAAAAAAACZ0/kYvj6d86M_Y/s1600/Cart.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This gift totally gob smacked me! I texted an art friend to meet up with me at Starbux last night so I could show her my new pen spritzer and she told me she had something for me in her car. We had discussed that if she ever wanted to get rid of any arty stuffs to not forget about me. (of course I need more). So I figured that's what it was. Well, as you can see, she went to Ikea and bought me one of those COOL Carts! OMG! I didn't know what it was last night at Starbux. I thought it was a BIG heavy box of arty stuff. If you don't know what this is, go to Ikea's website and look it up! They come in teal and dark gray. She gave me dark gray!! YAY!<br />
<br />
And so that is it, except I leave you with this one truth. Never go to bed mad at someone you love, make sure that person knows that you love them and tell them often, no matter how difficult they make your life. I unfortunately lost another friend this week very unexpectedly. Do not take your life for granted!<br />
<br />
That's it no more preaching!<br />
<br />
Talk Soon!<br />

<br />
I have been under the weather for the past week! Ugh! An inhaler hanging around my neck. 2 different antibiotics and just today I actually am feeling a little like myself again! This is not fun!<br />
<br />
But wanna know what is fun?<br />
<br />
This:<br />
<br />
These are sewn collages my friend <a href="http://mysticmissive.blogspot.com/">Cheryl</a> creates! They are the bomb! Please enjoy!<br />

<br />
The bestest get well present I ever received! Thanx my friend!<br />
<br />
And now for me. Since I have been sick, I have slacked in my Planner, but did actually work some:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rsIy67MNn74/Uv2M4oxkRrI/AAAAAAAACXw/w_Zxp7mDJKA/s1600/DLP+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rsIy67MNn74/Uv2M4oxkRrI/AAAAAAAACXw/w_Zxp7mDJKA/s1600/DLP+1.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Doodle a border here, which then turned into doodled webs!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SdJXoSrgS4Q/Uv2M5yKBhSI/AAAAAAAACYA/Q1eM6EFeKJc/s1600/DLP+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SdJXoSrgS4Q/Uv2M5yKBhSI/AAAAAAAACYA/Q1eM6EFeKJc/s1600/DLP+2.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then added a "flopportunity". I took a piece of fun foam and drew a leaf on it for a stamp. I inked it with Memories Dye Based Ink Pad, & stamped it. Love the look. Then the next photo shows the oops:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7zhvKOKAsfM/Uv2M47N0FnI/AAAAAAAACX0/5EJLk0y_itA/s1600/DLP+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7zhvKOKAsfM/Uv2M47N0FnI/AAAAAAAACX0/5EJLk0y_itA/s1600/DLP+3.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It bled through. BUT it looks so cool, I loved it. The 2nd flopportunity is the sketch of the ladies. I drew one on a napkin waiting for my lunch. Put it in my pocket and forgot about it. Later when I retrieved it, I opened it up and the pen had bled through and created a twin! COOL!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eU6G-hKTFgA/Uv2OcuKMhkI/AAAAAAAACYM/vjeSDEhyjCk/s1600/DLP+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eU6G-hKTFgA/Uv2OcuKMhkI/AAAAAAAACYM/vjeSDEhyjCk/s1600/DLP+4.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This challenge was to find an artist inspiration and try to create something of theirs. So I picked Tracy Moore, Teesha Moore's Hubby. I love his sketches. But this is when I was really into my sick so I never finished the sketch. Of course on the left is Tracy and on the right is my rendition.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7bHqlWa7I7M/Uv2OchACscI/AAAAAAAACYQ/tC0-oVcLmuY/s1600/DLP+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7bHqlWa7I7M/Uv2OchACscI/AAAAAAAACYQ/tC0-oVcLmuY/s1600/DLP+5.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And that brings us to this week's challenge, which is create a shape, repeat it and add color. So since tomorrow is Valentine's Day, I chose a heart. I also found a Robot with a heart, so he could dance on my page! I am still loving <a href="https://arttothe5th.squarespace.com/">The Documented Life Project</a>. Check it out! Too much fun!<br />
<br />
Here I was going to add a 30 second video of my cat playing fetch. But my phone says it is too big to send in an email. Shucks!<br />
<br />
I am finishing Sycamore Row by John Grisham this evening. Excellent book! Then it will be back to Agatha Christie! My book goal in 2013 was to read 40 books and I read 48 books. This year my goal is to read 50!<br />
<br />
Have a great weekend and a fun day tomorrow!<br />
<br />
Till next time!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So here is week 2: Selfie<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rvzjkBQrFSE/UuHIAI47ktI/AAAAAAAACWc/7T6MKwpTRFI/s1600/DLP+Selfie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rvzjkBQrFSE/UuHIAI47ktI/AAAAAAAACWc/7T6MKwpTRFI/s1600/DLP+Selfie.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I am writing an affirmation at the beginning of each week, and then including a quote with each weekly challenge.<br />
<br />
Week 3: Add an envelope<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ldemdyN7Kd8/UuHIO1HYVRI/AAAAAAAACWk/XHBiC2Kes2A/s1600/DLP+Week+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ldemdyN7Kd8/UuHIO1HYVRI/AAAAAAAACWk/XHBiC2Kes2A/s1600/DLP+Week+3.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
One of my Xmas gifts came in this envelope, and I had to include it because of the great doodled sun on it!<br />
<br />
Week 4: Secret Message<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-El9JnrWT8JM/UuHIbmPtjzI/AAAAAAAACWs/cnVE1BHUHnk/s1600/DLP+Week+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-El9JnrWT8JM/UuHIbmPtjzI/AAAAAAAACWs/cnVE1BHUHnk/s1600/DLP+Week+4.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
There is a secret message in a small envelope slid inside this page.<br />
<br />
This is a hoot! I am having more fun. I challenged myself to doodle something everyday. As you can see, I am doodling it! That bunch of circles on the right hand page is really cool drywall/joint tape. The only place you can find it, is at Lowes. My new AJ Buddy <a href="http://imperfectimpulses.wordpress.com/">Aaron</a> used it on one of his videos recently and of course I had to go get a roll. 6 Bux! Woot! It is paper, tears so easily and holds spray inks perfectly.<br />
<br />
So I am loving this project. Please check it out if you are not arting on a weekly or daily basis. <a href="http://www.robenmarie.com/blog/2013/12/14/the-documented-life-project.html">Roben-Marie Smith</a> and 4 other ladies are our hosts on this wild, fun adventure! Go check it out! And the best thing is, it is free!<br />
<br />
Gotta go! Hmmm wonder what to doodle today?<br />
<br />
Till the next chapter!<br />
<br />

<br />
I have had a very interesting and extremely fun week. Beginning last Sunday, I bought a 50% off Weekly 2014 Moleskine Planner and began a journey. <br />
<br />
5 ladies including Roben Marie Smith, started this.<br /><br />It is called The Documented Life Project, (DLP), and all it is, is one part planner, one part journal, which consists of tip in's for each week of the year added in with Washi tape. Like this which makes it very fluffy:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YAM4o5QPXq4/UsjoDZKcZtI/AAAAAAAACVk/B9n8p8-sFqg/s1600/DLP+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YAM4o5QPXq4/UsjoDZKcZtI/AAAAAAAACVk/B9n8p8-sFqg/s320/DLP+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
12 monthly tabs placed on top, and a weekly challenge given to us each Sunday. The first challenge was a door. So that was easy for me since I want to keep negativity away from my door this year. So I took a pic of my front door and placed it on the front of the tip in and added a Negativity quote on it. Cool! The tip in's are for working on the weekly challenges, like drawing or taking photos, etc.<br />
<br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XCcGXv-uJfo/UsjrgAWUBZI/AAAAAAAACV4/pImGvDDW0k0/s1600/DLP+Cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xkdV-XvGI1o/UsjqNRae-XI/AAAAAAAACVs/Gi9hdHWkekA/s1600/DLP+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xkdV-XvGI1o/UsjqNRae-XI/AAAAAAAACVs/Gi9hdHWkekA/s320/DLP+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
To create this as my own, I gessoed the covers, and then sprayed inks and inked through an quote stencil on the back here:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6gr6-z7NGGo/Usjr4MRVAII/AAAAAAAACV8/xn9kk9lg97k/s1600/DLP+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6gr6-z7NGGo/Usjr4MRVAII/AAAAAAAACV8/xn9kk9lg97k/s320/DLP+2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The front cover, I am still adding doodles, etc to:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l4oOyEBhpwA/Usjsjmjzi0I/AAAAAAAACWE/m0Es_2CqbSc/s1600/DLP+Front+Cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l4oOyEBhpwA/Usjsjmjzi0I/AAAAAAAACWE/m0Es_2CqbSc/s320/DLP+Front+Cover.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And the weekly planner part:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6EQ9ZJx2EiY/UsjsyLP7KyI/AAAAAAAACWM/VNgjju2cML8/s1600/DLP+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6EQ9ZJx2EiY/UsjsyLP7KyI/AAAAAAAACWM/VNgjju2cML8/s320/DLP+4.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the most excited I have been about Art Journaling in a while. I have devoted a whole entire week to building this. I will carry this with me when I travel so I can add stuff to it.<br />
<br />
I have a daily writing journal that I write about my day in each night before I go to sleep. It holds a lot of negative stuff that I encounter on my job, etc. That is where I write the negative away each night. But this DLP is only to be used for the positive!<br />
<br />
I am also doing a 26 week Money Challenge. Google it. Since I get paid bi monthly, I will deposit a certain amount each payday or twice a month and at the end of this year I will have saved almost 1400 bux! YAY!<br />
<br />
If you are interested in the DLP, go here: <a href="http://www.robenmarie.com/blog/2013/12/14/the-documented-life-project.html">http://www.robenmarie.com/blog/2013/12/14/the-documented-life-project.html</a><br />
<br />
You will not be sorry! This is way better than most New Year stuff out there!<br />
<br />
Happy New Year!<br />
<br />

<br />
Hope you all survived Christmas, but since it was just yesterday, maybe not!<br />
<br />
I made it through without a scratch, and not dramatized! YAY!<br />
<br />
I got a cool blanket throw from Barnes and Noble that I thought was being bought for my Dad, but was mine! It is heavy and perfect to curl under to read!<br />
<br />
I also got a Nutribullet, since I am suppose to start using to make smoothies for health reasons. It is cool. But the best???...<br />
<br />
THIS!!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-STmzFBgfdvs/UrxCnDvbhVI/AAAAAAAACU0/RIU80ZQMWTY/s1600/Xmas+Paints.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-STmzFBgfdvs/UrxCnDvbhVI/AAAAAAAACU0/RIU80ZQMWTY/s320/Xmas+Paints.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These are new Golden High Flow Paints, meaning they can be used in air brushes and refillable markers, since they are very thin!! There are 10 opaque colors on the left and 10 translucent colors on the right. These are 1 oz bottles and even though there are waaay more colors than these, I am happy and can add more later. It pays to know what you want, print out the order info from the store and hand it to Santa and say, this is what I want! Works every time. LOL So since I am on vacation, I will begin to work with them. And before you ask, another arty friend of mine, also ordered a set of these and we tried to get them to work from a water brush. I wasn't too happy with that, since it just didn't want to flow well. Ugh!<br />
<br />
A couple of latest AJ pages:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Now if you didn't behave and look at the last post first, like I told you, please do so now, then this last page will make more sense. The video is from Jane Davies. This page has a skin on it!<br />
<br />

<br />
So ya know, I am just kicking back relaxing, right?? Yea......<br />
<br />
Since day after tomorrow is Christmas, and I am not done with my stuff, well you know where I am at.<br />
<br />
My brother is here visiting from Virginia and so I have been busy, busy!<br />
<br />
I have already received some gift's and want to share with you!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i3-trjg0bgc/UrhfYQrVY_I/AAAAAAAACUM/w8z5GWEZoVo/s1600/Haul+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="176" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i3-trjg0bgc/UrhfYQrVY_I/AAAAAAAACUM/w8z5GWEZoVo/s320/Haul+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zbjQ__TgpSk/Urhfe_CurTI/AAAAAAAACUU/Fh_TTleT8-s/s1600/Haul+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zbjQ__TgpSk/Urhfe_CurTI/AAAAAAAACUU/Fh_TTleT8-s/s320/Haul+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h6j1MlDcYwE/UrhflH8OJGI/AAAAAAAACUc/l9P997qOrgs/s1600/Haul+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h6j1MlDcYwE/UrhflH8OJGI/AAAAAAAACUc/l9P997qOrgs/s320/Haul+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
So the first 3 pics is what I received in my Xmas box from my friend <a href="http://mysticmissive.blogspot.com/">Cheryl</a> in Washington!! EEEP!!! So cool! I tried a panoramic pic with my iPhone in the first one. LOL. She sent me tons of maps! I love maps. The next one is the stamps and punches she sent and for added imagery, I included my cat's tail in the pic! <br />
The last pic is of the Smashbook that she made into a day planner, art journal, etc for 2014! This spread is for February! So cool! Cheryl is very talented. I linked her blog above. Please check out her talents!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yAK-lo4efJE/UrhfqNp-QkI/AAAAAAAACUk/JsHCDbSCVAg/s1600/Less+Herger+Pic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yAK-lo4efJE/UrhfqNp-QkI/AAAAAAAACUk/JsHCDbSCVAg/s320/Less+Herger+Pic.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a drawing that<a href="http://www.comfortableshoesstudio.com/"> Less Herger</a> created on a recycled can lid. Another friend gave this to me as a gift! This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Please go to Less's blog and visit her Etsy Shop to see these small recycled drawings! I love this thing! Amazing!<br />
<br />
I am hoping that I can get into my art journal while I am off for the next 2 weeks! Hoping...<br />
<br />
In January I decided that I would keep track of how many books I would read this year. My goal was 40, but by the time 2014 rolls around, I will be in the middle of # 49! Thanx to my friend Beth who introduced me to James Patterson, Alex Cross series, which led me to the Women's Murder Club series also by James Patterson! Great detective books!<br />
<br />
Have a great holiday with your family's and friend's. Remember those less fortunate and don't stress over everything that is going on in the world. It is too depressing! Dwell on the HAPPY!<br />
<br />
Till next year, I am out!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07948419461686094043noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6890723400535151172.post-46143154189909533752013-12-04T05:44:00.003-08:002013-12-04T05:47:55.624-08:00PANIC! (Nevermind)OK Now I feel like a fool.<br />
<br />
After I hit publish for this, and then hit view blog, my blogs were back!<br />
<br />
All is well for the moment!<br />
<br />
________________________________________________________________________________<br />
<br />
I got up this morning and saw that all of my blogs I follow had disappeared from my blog!!! YIKES! <br />
to say I am upset is a major under statement!<br />
So if anyone out there in Blogger blog-landing knows anything to help, please step up! I know out of my 49 followers, I only see comments from about 4, but that is OK, if you 4 know how to fix this.<br />
<br />
Yes, I rebooted my laptop<br />
<br />
Yes, I signed out and signed back into Blogger<br />
<br />
No, I am not savvy enough with blogger to really understand the gizmo's in settings. I can barely change my header.<br />
<br />
Help!Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07948419461686094043noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6890723400535151172.post-16283332160977713102013-11-24T15:57:00.001-08:002013-11-24T15:57:09.005-08:00Sadness And Other ThingsThis week has been a little trying for me. <br />
<br />
A lady that dispatches for one of my division's lost her husband on Friday from a sudden massive heart attack. WOW! I am so sad for this family. This guy was one of those people you could honestly say, that he would give you the shirt off of his back! It is unbelievable that just last Saturday, I was with him, his wife and his kids as we worked on a "Stuff the Bus" promotion for Thanksgiving in Manteca, a small town near me. We park a bus at a Food 4 Less grocery store and as people come out of the store they give us food for the needy folks that need the food for Thanksgiving. Steve worked all day collecting food, helping us get the food in the bus and of course had to help us jump start the bus at the end of the day! Never fails, there must be some drama! And then the very next Friday he was gone! I am still in shock. I believe he was just 40 years old.<br />
<br />
That is the sad news. So on to other things!<br />
<br />
I have worked this weekend on getting my craft paints switched over to dabbers, and then getting a small circle painted and punched for the tops. Here is a pic:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vs3ezT-xgac/UpJ4hoqx4RI/AAAAAAAACTI/Lf6I4UC-Wgo/s1600/11-24-13+AJ+Pic+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vs3ezT-xgac/UpJ4hoqx4RI/AAAAAAAACTI/Lf6I4UC-Wgo/s320/11-24-13+AJ+Pic+1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Looks kinda cool! The top row is Distress Paints. The rest is pretty much craft paints now with dabber tops!<br />
<br />
I have been working in my journal some.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oImms3GA4Hc/UpKNF6jsGHI/AAAAAAAACTY/8Y16I2aORvY/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oImms3GA4Hc/UpKNF6jsGHI/AAAAAAAACTc/mE39YTW_Vms/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oImms3GA4Hc/UpKNF6jsGHI/AAAAAAAACTc/mE39YTW_Vms/s320/photo+1.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I don't know why it is sideways here. It is right on my desktop. Sigh...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DTcZdQZQlO0/UpKNn4muiOI/AAAAAAAACTg/F51ztXdaAuw/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DTcZdQZQlO0/UpKNn4muiOI/AAAAAAAACTg/F51ztXdaAuw/s320/photo+2.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I love the bird image on this page.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hZya9LPDWQk/UpKOBDYG8rI/AAAAAAAACTo/SbR2e5iYM2A/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hZya9LPDWQk/UpKOBDYG8rI/AAAAAAAACTo/SbR2e5iYM2A/s320/photo+3.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This was the inside cover of a zine, that I think was <a href="http://thealteredpage.blogspot.com/">Seth Apter's</a>. But not sure. But I like it and it is blue!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w6JEuswQd0E/UpKO4AmuWpI/AAAAAAAACT0/Dl9ooYcxrqk/s1600/photo+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w6JEuswQd0E/UpKO4AmuWpI/AAAAAAAACT0/Dl9ooYcxrqk/s320/photo+4.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I found this strange image in my stash and thought OK I need something here. So here it landed on top of a <a href="http://journalgirl.com/">Samie Harding</a> background paper.<br />
<br />
And lastly, this is my journal page I created out of the sorrow I feel for Steve dying and what his family is having to go through now:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-00MtwkLLqWI/UpKPyd4BGBI/AAAAAAAACT8/pzLVBBkTYLA/s1600/photo+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-00MtwkLLqWI/UpKPyd4BGBI/AAAAAAAACT8/pzLVBBkTYLA/s320/photo+5.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
It was a fast page, but I wanted to get it down!<br />
<br />
Anyway, please stay safe, have a great Turkey Day, hug your kids, spouses and friends and let them know how much you love them!<br />
<br />
Till next time. I am out!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FY-rxf8RsN4/UobVeXG3VxI/AAAAAAAACR0/-O_gVI8bpnQ/s1600/2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FY-rxf8RsN4/UobVeXG3VxI/AAAAAAAACR0/-O_gVI8bpnQ/s320/2.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Cool image! This one is not complete though.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CrBQto8DmMA/UobV5MDZdMI/AAAAAAAACR4/mIQvI0QTahc/s1600/3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CrBQto8DmMA/UobV5MDZdMI/AAAAAAAACR4/mIQvI0QTahc/s320/3.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is about a good friend and a very sad story! Looks like she is being forced to leave CA! Yep, it SUX!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6MfLMEJbBwA/UobWMozv9lI/AAAAAAAACSA/w6jvY9K8-Kc/s1600/4+.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6MfLMEJbBwA/UobWMozv9lI/AAAAAAAACSA/w6jvY9K8-Kc/s320/4+.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This looks pink, but believe me it is red. Just like the rest of US, I had to choose new healthcare, so when I did this page, I was very upset about it. My present healthcare group did not want to be kind to my employer so as of 1-1-2014, I will be an official Kaiser Permanente Member! I have to pay more than I do now, but I am not young and have TOO MANY issues, not to have healthcare! Grrr<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7_aDOg42xJo/UobXXG90kpI/AAAAAAAACSM/9UJZUiLl3CU/s1600/5+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7_aDOg42xJo/UobXXG90kpI/AAAAAAAACSM/9UJZUiLl3CU/s320/5+.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I have decided in this journal, I am not going to have too many "pretty" pages! I want them to be rough and a little bit ugly! I really like this one!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FIazeRDgjmM/UobXwkAxdnI/AAAAAAAACSU/BKdrdx9yIBU/s1600/6+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FIazeRDgjmM/UobXwkAxdnI/AAAAAAAACSU/BKdrdx9yIBU/s320/6+.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This one is definitely not great! The left side is OK but the right page is YIKES! I didn't know what I wanted around the weird stripy doll so I scribbled! Yuk!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pGu11MkhJnM/UobYLt4WhlI/AAAAAAAACSc/3eqopS9Gv7U/s1600/7+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pGu11MkhJnM/UobYLt4WhlI/AAAAAAAACSc/3eqopS9Gv7U/s320/7+.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Now this one is actually based on a true story. When I was in HS, we lived on a dairy where my Dad milked. Since our house only had 2 bedrooms, my brother got one and of course my parents got the other, so that left me outside in a small silver stream camping trailer for a bedroom. Now before you start saying, Oh the poor thing, I loved it. It was made into an actual bedroom with a desk, closet and bed. No sink, etc. Anyway, I could stay up late reading and play my record player, etc. And since I was already smoking, it was easy to sneak that too. <br />
The best story I have about this is my brother was a little heathen back then and he picked on me constantly, so one day he was chasing me to kill me, or so I thought and as I ran into the trailer, he said something about telling Mom and Dad that I had been smoking, so I turned around to slug him and just as I threw my fist, he slammed the door and my fist and arm went through the glass in the door, and cut me pretty bad! I still have the scars! LOL! PS, that is not a pic of me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qp0EwJNLjGA/UobaXbCaaEI/AAAAAAAACSo/erwN0dx6Ly4/s1600/1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qp0EwJNLjGA/UobaXbCaaEI/AAAAAAAACSo/erwN0dx6Ly4/s320/1.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
One last thing, I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond tonight to get coffee and saw this. It is a very large, 23 X 16 inch Oven Liner, like the Ranger Craft Mat, but bigger and only cost $9.99! Takes up to 500 degrees so no heat gun's will harm it. And the size is the best part. A regular Ranger Craft Mat is 11 X 17 for $17.99 This one may be a little thicker, but who cares, it is great! Mine is black, and I bought it at a kitchen supply store many years ago. I love it.<br />
<br />
So that is the end of this story! Have a great weekend!<br />

<br />
You haven't??<br />
<br />
I have bought a copy, every copy since they started. It is a great magazine, in that it features art journalers that are not "famous". It is big and glossy and beautiful.<br />
<br />
I was interviewed for it and they posted it today on their face book page!<br />
<br />
Heeee, I am famous!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.featuringmagazine.com/archives/1422">Go Here</a>!<br />
<br />
Have fun and seriously think about ordering the next issue! You will love it!<br />
<br />
Have a great week!Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07948419461686094043noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6890723400535151172.post-40355882415133465432013-10-26T19:24:00.000-07:002013-10-26T19:24:17.043-07:00I Have Been BusyOn June 10, 2012, I wrote a blog post titled, "Day Job Stress...," and in that post I wrote about how my Tim Holtz Dabber paints had dried up and I found out that my craft paints lids and the dabber lids interchanged and I switched them out and well-a, I had new dabber paints! <br />
<br />
So, I found this rack at a 2nd hand store yesterday:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A1n4Mzdx36A/UmxyjwQwkGI/AAAAAAAACRQ/c-W6I5nH5uY/s1600/Craft+Paint+Rack.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A1n4Mzdx36A/UmxyjwQwkGI/AAAAAAAACRQ/c-W6I5nH5uY/s320/Craft+Paint+Rack.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It holds 50 craft paint bottles! Looks like it is home made! It is wooden. It measures about 12 X 16 inches. And it cost 99 cents! Did I score or what????? So this morning I took the rest of my dabber tops off and screwed them onto my craft paint bottles!!!! The dried up bottles of dabber paint are now gone with craft paint lids!! Bye Bye! This is the pic before I added all of the new bottles.<br />
<br />
I said I have been busy.<br />
<br />
I found a LOA friend that I lost 4 years ago when I started this day job and lost my mind completely. So I went to her house today for a visit and found out she had gotten married, and she and her husband, George, sell books out of their home!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I was like OMG by the stacks of books every where and George knows where every book is. It was amazing. So now I know when I find cheap books that I can take them over to Barbara's and George's and while Barbara and I visit, George can go through them and take what he wants to sell. It will help them and I will feel good about helping them. Barbara actually sells DVD's and VHS Tapes also. Hubs and I have a bazillion VHS Tapes that need to find a home, so he doesn't know it yet, but......<br />
<br />
Speaking of the hubs, he is down in LA this weekend, picking up ANOTHER old motorcycle to fix up and sell! Grrrr! But I have the house to myself! YAY!!!!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qqLfu55y3zo/Umx4FUez2xI/AAAAAAAACRg/xIKdhL2QpRw/s1600/LOA+Zine.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qqLfu55y3zo/Umx4FUez2xI/AAAAAAAACRg/xIKdhL2QpRw/s320/LOA+Zine.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I also found the latest version of the LOA magazine at target this week when I was in Hayward! I love this magazine. If you are into LOA, go find it!<br />
<br />
OK I am off to call a friend and do some art! <br />
<br />
BYE!!!!<br />

<br />
The title of this post says it all! I actually did stuff this weekend instead of my usual vegging!<br />
<br />
I actually cooked both yesterday and today! The hubs is in shock but full! LOL<br />
<br />
I actually went to a local hospital and visited a girl that I lived next door to when she was born. We had a lot of catching up to do since I left there when she was 10 and she is now 35. Not all of it was fun though, since I actually found out about 5 different deaths that have occurred in the last couple of years, all of people I knew including her Mom! Sad! She is having her gallbladder removed tomorrow.<br />
<br />
I actually also did my weekly Sunday visit to my folks! They are fine.<br />
<br />
And then:<br />
<br />
I actually made 2 spreads in my art journal! Yay! Me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SyMqqRVSOoY/UmR_lPyWX6I/AAAAAAAACQg/gFjPDINAhfE/s1600/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SyMqqRVSOoY/UmR_lPyWX6I/AAAAAAAACQg/gFjPDINAhfE/s320/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hEBUmTD2XGk/UmR_p5cKqFI/AAAAAAAACQo/rPSNV3jfIxY/s1600/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hEBUmTD2XGk/UmR_p5cKqFI/AAAAAAAACQo/rPSNV3jfIxY/s320/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Not actually completed yet! But I did some work in my journal! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oj7lhidinGo/UmSABOluizI/AAAAAAAACQw/AKDleXMtynw/s1600/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oj7lhidinGo/UmSABOluizI/AAAAAAAACQw/AKDleXMtynw/s320/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-diVelZVzlXw/UmSAEvzOVNI/AAAAAAAACQ4/f_hg2lwbfnQ/s1600/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-diVelZVzlXw/UmSAEvzOVNI/AAAAAAAACQ4/f_hg2lwbfnQ/s320/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And I have added some more cards to my Scrap-O-Dex. It is looking fatter each day. And the bottom pic is a close up of one of the cards. It is a ton of fun!<br />
<br />
I have actually also been cleaning and doing more organizing in my art cave.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9jWDqJNc-EM/UmSAnofgDfI/AAAAAAAACRA/-HQSioNh6DE/s1600/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9jWDqJNc-EM/UmSAnofgDfI/AAAAAAAACRA/-HQSioNh6DE/s320/Art+Journal+Pages+Oct+2013+004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I have been trying to get all of my tapes in the same place in here. So I bought a couple of Reflections containers about 9 X 9 with a lid that locks. I have 98 rolls of tape just in those 2. I have a ton more, at least enough to fill 2 more of these.<br />
<br />
I am also having a good time listening to my new audio books in my car. I even dusted off my Library card and went and checked out the next Alex Cross book by James Patterson. I have only 3 more of that series and I will be done. And then I will be starting on another James Patterson series, called the Women's Murder Club. I loved the first one, so I will read/listen to those. There is 12 in that series. I listened to the 1st one this last week and was HOOKED! I never get enough books. My goal is to have read 40 books this year, and I am now at 32.<br />
<br />
And I have also been cutting up my arty and Juxtapose magazines, not my art books, but the magazines I will never look at again. I am cutting words and images out to use in my journal. I will never be selling anything, so those images are fine. I love cutting up magazines for collage fodder.<br />
<br />
And that is actually what I have been up to lately or at least this weekend. I was headed for the Bay Area this next week but with the BART strike happening, I will stay away until it is settled!<br />
<br />
Actually, is the word I have repeated all over the place in this post!<br />
<br />
So actually I am gone!<br />
<br />
<br />
Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07948419461686094043noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6890723400535151172.post-49595682498525147382013-10-10T18:50:00.000-07:002013-10-10T18:50:00.929-07:00OK, Ok.....Hi,<br />
<br />
Thought I would write a spell and see what turns up.<br />
<br />
Lately this is what has been going on:<br />
<br />
My laptop caught a virus, even though I had ACTIVE virus protection software! $282.00 later, the virus is gone, and I am not a happy person for having to spend $$ on something stupid, but I cannot live by Ipad alone.<br />
<br />
On that very same day I had to send my son $300.00 for something also ridiculous!<br />
<br />
I am now addicted to red very crisp grapes. I eat them everyday, and I believe I am doing my body good by snacking on grapes instead of eating cookies and ice cream and other much loved junk snacks!<br />
<br />
And speaking of my body, I am now under the realization that I will have to lose 100 lbs. before the end of the year, just so I can get off of at least 6 prescriptions, so I can afford the Affordable Care Act. The latest figures for me, because I work, is $6850.00 out of pocket each year. I am still looking at other solutions, I must!<br />
<br />
I have been obsessed lately with cleaning the house. Well, really that is a little white lie. I AM cleaning, but actually looking for a Law of Attraction book I had in my hands 4 years ago. I know it is in this house somewhere! So little by little it is being cleaned. And if I find the book? Ha! The cleaning stops immediately of course!<br />
<br />
I have a baby possum living in a tree in my front yard! Yikes! He appeared when the Hubs was trimming the trees back for the winter. I guess he is still up there somewhere. I don't have time to play with a possum!<br />
<br />
I am now listening to books on CD's while I am driving, which is what I do 90% of my time, because of work travel. I am now on the 4th one, a Patricia Cornwell book called Trace. Very cool. Never occurred to me that I would like this as I am a "have to actually have a real book in my hand" kind of book nerd. But because of the cleaning, I have also been taking books to the used book store for credit, today I have 75 bux of credit! Yes, I have a few books, quite a few!<br />
<br />
Art? Eh, not much, except I am still working on my rolodex cards for my Scrap O Dex! Soon I will have them all covered with paper and can begin to add embellishments, so they will look super! I am even going to stich on them. And I am taking a Kelly Kilmer class tomorrow in Niles! Can't wait to get out of my art slump!<br />
<br />
Talk soon!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
I have been working on a new arty project recently and wanted to share, but go here first and scroll:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://ramblingrose.typepad.com/journal/sprapodex/">Patty Van Dorin</a><br />
<br />
This lady is a genius, if I haven't said that before. I loved her "Scrap-O-Dex" art journal a couple of years ago and always wanted to create one. So I recently bought a vintage Rolodex:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w-kYgOHv2nA/UinLgLVPT_I/AAAAAAAACPo/SmKh8oZW1Xs/s1600/BP+1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w-kYgOHv2nA/UinLgLVPT_I/AAAAAAAACPo/SmKh8oZW1Xs/s320/BP+1.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
And then I began making cards for it:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ro8aBCafZE0/UinLu_kPtHI/AAAAAAAACPw/FwnEz8GnIO8/s1600/BP+2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ro8aBCafZE0/UinLu_kPtHI/AAAAAAAACPw/FwnEz8GnIO8/s320/BP+2.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lXB88fdPxdk/UinL2l8XNDI/AAAAAAAACP4/lVpY53LclbE/s1600/BP+5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lXB88fdPxdk/UinL2l8XNDI/AAAAAAAACP4/lVpY53LclbE/s320/BP+5.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And this is what it looks like now with only 25 cards completed and inserted:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yACNBee5gfY/UinMFd8ZdXI/AAAAAAAACQA/36Khl9sFlnM/s1600/BP+4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yACNBee5gfY/UinMFd8ZdXI/AAAAAAAACQA/36Khl9sFlnM/s320/BP+4.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the most fun I have had in a while. I even bought a Rolodex card punch, Sorry, I did not take a pic of it, but it is a very small plastic squeeze punch that only punches one card at a time. At this time I am only covering both sides of the cards with assorted papers and punching the holes. Then when they are all covered, I will add stickers, quotes, embellishments and maybe even stitching. Again, after you check out Patty's blog about this you will be hooked. It's so fun!<br />
I got the vintage rolodex on Etsy and it came with dividers and cards. The punch, I bought at Office Depot. And believe me I did NOT have to buy any paper for this! LOL<br />
<br />
The kid part of this post is about how I now have a Grandson that is a Senior this year, a Granddaughter that began Middle School this year and I miss seeing them. Plan to go back home next May when my Grandson graduates HS. Yep! That is the Plan!<br />
<br />
The cat part of this post?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DZ_RI294x28/UinOJprcEII/AAAAAAAACQM/jSKANnZqXUg/s1600/BP+3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DZ_RI294x28/UinOJprcEII/AAAAAAAACQM/jSKANnZqXUg/s320/BP+3.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Is my Buddy! In this pic, he has sleepy eyes since I woke him when I got up and started taking pics of my Scrap-O-Dex! Of course I have been up since 3:00am! If I wake up and start thinking, then my brain won't let me go back to sleep! Grrrr! The trials of being a genius! LOL<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
There is still TOO MUCH stuff in here, BUT at least I can move around and find stuff again! And since my art table is unpacked, I can actually do some journaling! YAY!<br />
<br />
Oh and in Pic 3, the stuff hiding behind my sewing chair is a couple of birthday gifts for the Hubs who will be a Happy BD boy tomorrow! Then that stuff will be eliminated from the room!<br />
<br />
Just wanted to give you a before and after post!!! I be proud!<br />

Too much day job and too much drama has almost stopped all Me Time activities lately. Sad!</div><div><br></div><div>Daddy turned 95 on Thursday and even though we had a party. I didn't get the best pics of it. Insert the Drama Factor here! But I survived to tell about it. But I feel as though the weight on my chest won't leave. Sigh...</div><div><br></div><div>But on a lighter note, I bought a Wacom Bamboo Connect tablet from a young man on Craigslist. I have always wanted one to goof with. Cool! </div><div><br></div><div>I belong to an monthly art group called Art Menagerie. We meet the 2nd Saturday every month to create art. And since it is geared towards AJ, makes me happy. Last month we met to spray paint with stencils. So today I am helping everyone cut down their Graffiti papers to make a small journal. WoW look at me heading an Art class! Anyway this has become my escape each month from the Day Job Drama!</div><div><br></div><div>And with that, I am outta here! </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-DIZ4oyuF854/UeFeWtWw8EI/AAAAAAAACN8/8k-hvA_cRJE/s640/blogger-image-455202452.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-DIZ4oyuF854/UeFeWtWw8EI/AAAAAAAACN8/8k-hvA_cRJE/s640/blogger-image-455202452.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Nz-DaUjd3CU/UeFeZqz2zDI/AAAAAAAACOE/txrALwP-6Vg/s640/blogger-image--1179634185.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Nz-DaUjd3CU/UeFeZqz2zDI/AAAAAAAACOE/txrALwP-6Vg/s640/blogger-image--1179634185.jpg"></a></div> </div>Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07948419461686094043noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6890723400535151172.post-67106071951912602572013-05-19T06:56:00.001-07:002013-05-19T06:56:33.842-07:00Mobile Blogging Test<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I added a new app to my phone for blogging. OK things don't look so good this time. Blogger hates me!<br />
<br />
I just experienced a greater than ever weekend that I want to share with you.
It began with meeting a person that I began following when I first jumped on the AJ wagon like 7 years ago. <a href="http://journalgirl.com/">Samie Harding </a> has been a great inspiration to me and I have always loved her and her work.
So this past week she flew out to San Francisco to do some video work for <a href="http://www.teahouseartstudio.com/">Mati</a> (pronounced Matey like a pirate would say). So my friend Beth who is also a great fan of Samie's and I cooked up a plan so we could meet Samie face to face! We drove to Berkeley and met Samie at Mati's Studio (wow) and spent the afternoon with her in San Francisco at Japantown! It was a big mall with a ton of great shops. I had never been there before but know I will be going back!
We went to <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/kinokuniya-bookstore-san-francisco">Kinokuniya</a>'s <br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8q_FTTZEQJs/UXSSAX6Y26I/AAAAAAAACMA/hbhUvQZBjRA/s1600/Sami+Pic+1.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8q_FTTZEQJs/UXSSAX6Y26I/AAAAAAAACMA/hbhUvQZBjRA/s320/Sami+Pic+1.JPG" /></a><br />
<br />
It was an amazing Japanese book store. OMG! I thought I had died and went to heaven. And we also went to <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/daiso-san-francisco">Daiso</a>'s of course, since I can't pass up a trip to any Dollar Store! Then we ate at a great Japanese resturant, and since Samie can speak Japanese, that made it even more fun!
So lots of fun and lots of shopping and getting to spend a few hours with a friend in person that has always been an online friend forever makes for a great day.The next day Beth and I ran around Modesto going to thrift shops on a book search. As everyone knows, I am a book nerd and so is Beth, so that was great. But the best part, is Beth got to come to my house (finally) and visit my art cave! Lets put it this way, she came with 1 suitcase and left with 1 suitcase and 5 bags and 30 books! Hee!
So enough of my jabbering, here come some more photos of the weekend that I will be talking about for a very longtime.
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Qxzxmu7zw8E/UXSTXdGo22I/AAAAAAAACMI/0g-7Qp3g6MU/s1600/Samie+Pic+2.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Qxzxmu7zw8E/UXSTXdGo22I/AAAAAAAACMI/0g-7Qp3g6MU/s320/Samie+Pic+2.JPG" /></a>
Samie and Beth in Maido's.

Some great paper I got at Blick's. Oh yea we went to Dick Blick's in Berkeley also:)
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GunM2_zM_c4/UXST-5p1ZKI/AAAAAAAACMY/WcztvlAHnqo/s1600/Shopping+4.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GunM2_zM_c4/UXST-5p1ZKI/AAAAAAAACMY/WcztvlAHnqo/s320/Shopping+4.JPG" /></a>
Look at these great neon pencils I got at Blick's also.
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XnVLY9fD-8c/UXSUPeExW-I/AAAAAAAACMg/Oo8qoZIEvDI/s1600/Shopping+5.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XnVLY9fD-8c/UXSUPeExW-I/AAAAAAAACMg/Oo8qoZIEvDI/s320/Shopping+5.JPG" /></a>
This is a whole 'nother blog post in itself. It is a Sensu Stylus Brush for the Ipad and/or Tablet. Samie is teaching an online Digital Art class and I had<br />
to have this to go with it! Wow! It is amazing!
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zeXoguqWhvg/UXSVDaMP7pI/AAAAAAAACMo/T9O8uU2ujk4/s1600/Shopping+3.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zeXoguqWhvg/UXSVDaMP7pI/AAAAAAAACMo/T9O8uU2ujk4/s320/Shopping+3.JPG" /></a><br />
<br />
I have been wanting this book for awhile. Grabbed it when I saw it this time!
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K4AZr58XVac/UXSVXdOzk6I/AAAAAAAACMw/4PNiOSXPe1I/s1600/Shopping+2.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K4AZr58XVac/UXSVXdOzk6I/AAAAAAAACMw/4PNiOSXPe1I/s320/Shopping+2.JPG" /></a>
Had to grab this cool book from the best Goodwill store in Madera when I took Beth home yesterday.
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yesv-zuVt4g/UXSVxNU4FKI/AAAAAAAACM4/kZVXAFp4Gjg/s1600/BD+Pic+1.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yesv-zuVt4g/UXSVxNU4FKI/AAAAAAAACM4/kZVXAFp4Gjg/s320/BD+Pic+1.JPG" /></a>
And last but not least, my Hubs bought me a new Laser Printer for my 59th (again) Birthday!
I see transfers in my future! Whew!<br />
<br />
For a week that began very sad with the Boston Marathon bombings and the Texas Plant explosions, at least for me the week ended on a good note.
<br />
<br />
Please stay safe! Have a good week ahead!

<br />
It is time for an update from my crazeee life!<br />
<br />
On April 1st at 5:30am, I was already up and on the computer when my phone starts ringing and it was the Hubs. Asking me if I would come downtown to the Transit Center and pick up a little friend that rode his bus from the yard. Well at first I thought it was an April Fools joke, but I went ahead and got dressed and drove down there and here is what I found:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4V1ZoEDDz9U/UWHxrRYQGDI/AAAAAAAACK4/IHVK_Cnn9SM/s1600/Buddy.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4V1ZoEDDz9U/UWHxrRYQGDI/AAAAAAAACK4/IHVK_Cnn9SM/s320/Buddy.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Meet Buddy! A nice little cuddly boy maybe 8 months old. Of course this is Cat # 4 in the house. Yikes! I am going to be called the Crazy Cat Lady! He calmed down Sox, the other boy we have. Sox would torment our old cat, Maxie, but since Buddy has moved in, Sox plays with him and leaves Maxie alone. YAY!! Good news. I just realized this pic is creepy looking, but he was stretched out in the box upside down so I took it.<br />
<br />
On the art side, I went out today and used my new spray paints and shot through stencils in my big Dyan Reaveley Journal. They turned out swell: except I didn't get this one turned around.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-urUcJk0gPuQ/UWHzIpf8pdI/AAAAAAAACLA/nPR9qUKhxqY/s1600/pic+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-urUcJk0gPuQ/UWHzIpf8pdI/AAAAAAAACLA/nPR9qUKhxqY/s320/pic+1.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SoeKRNnHdMU/UWHzehKAmFI/AAAAAAAACLI/wGn-pq7xjPk/s1600/pic+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SoeKRNnHdMU/UWHzehKAmFI/AAAAAAAACLI/wGn-pq7xjPk/s320/pic+2.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Looks blue but actually black.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tPNARszffSI/UWHzqhefWNI/AAAAAAAACLU/2jicghtmsPk/s1600/pic+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tPNARszffSI/UWHzqhefWNI/AAAAAAAACLU/2jicghtmsPk/s320/pic+3.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RkUeCB4dlrA/UWHz7Cq1u3I/AAAAAAAACLY/XgxnBT28TEU/s1600/pic+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RkUeCB4dlrA/UWHz7Cq1u3I/AAAAAAAACLY/XgxnBT28TEU/s320/pic+4.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
OK, if I take the pic with my iphone and save it to my desktop and turn it, it saves right side up on the desk top but won't stay saved for Blogger! GRRRR<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8teEpVsogkg/UWH0V9XbiNI/AAAAAAAACLg/5-Q1ND8RQaM/s1600/pic+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8teEpVsogkg/UWH0V9XbiNI/AAAAAAAACLg/5-Q1ND8RQaM/s320/pic+5.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oh well, this is the last one anyway. It was fun and I want to do more. I have been buying a can of Liquidtex Spray Paint every time I go to Michael's with a coupon. I am up to 11 cans, but 2 of those are from Aaron Brothers, called Montana Spray Paint. Low odor, if you use them inside. I always spray paint outside. Safer!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And speaking of safer, I am in the middle of taking a 30 hour online OSHA class! It is going to kill me! I have been working on it for 1 month. And I think I am only at 17 hours, Ugh!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So that's what I have been up to lately! Have an arty week. Bye!</div>
Sharonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07948419461686094043noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6890723400535151172.post-86504802955824428812013-03-26T05:54:00.004-07:002013-03-26T05:54:50.429-07:00I Survived!This is a short, very short, update to what I have survived lately!<br />
<br />
My son's visit went well. He is a little on the strong side about politics, because HE is right! But after he preached for a while and he got his belief's out of his system, he calmed down. <br />
<br />
He was only here a week and spent a lot of time with his Grandparent's talking more about Wrestling and Wrestler's and that made them VERY happy, and just to have him within hugging distance made it great. <br />
<br />
My son is one amazing kid. He reached out to his Father (who said he wasn't his 37 years ago, but now admits he is) about 2 years ago, when he called a number and left a message, wishing him a Happy Father's Day. So after 37 years he got to visit him and his half brother and sister's. They all loved him and he was so glad. He spent quite a lot of time with them also. <br />
<br />
Just so you understand;<br />
<br />
This man had nothing to do with him when he was growing up, nothing! But like I said, Jason is one amazing kid to want to meet him, and get to know him and not hate him. WOW! Here is us! Yep, he is very tall!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_BqRmfitp2k/UVGYBK6Qj1I/AAAAAAAACKg/y2yPHDMFUdw/s1600/Jason's+Visit+3-17-13+026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_BqRmfitp2k/UVGYBK6Qj1I/AAAAAAAACKg/y2yPHDMFUdw/s320/Jason's+Visit+3-17-13+026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H1DW3Q44f3g/UVGYaJuoj4I/AAAAAAAACKo/ndljZwm-KM0/s1600/Jason's+Visit+3-17-13+012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H1DW3Q44f3g/UVGYaJuoj4I/AAAAAAAACKo/ndljZwm-KM0/s320/Jason's+Visit+3-17-13+012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Here he is with my parent's and the doggies! I think my Mom has her eyes closed. LOL<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Me, myself have had too many Dr appt's lately and yesterday I went in for a Colonoscopy AND and a Esophagus enlarging. They did them at the same time! Anyway, nothing much wrong in the colon, so no cancer! But they did a biopsy on something at the bottom of my esophagus. Haven't had this procedure since 2004, and my food was starting to back up and get stuck again. So we will see, when the results are back. I have to have another Colonoscopy in 5 years! Usually it is 10 but this Dr insist's on 5. And this was my first one. Which wasn't bad except for the prep! WOW! That I could do without. Let's just say, I am having my first cuppa since Saturday morning and it is great! LOL<br />
<br />
So that is about it. The Day Job of course is still trying to kill me. At this time I am in the process of taking a 30 Hour OSHA Class on line! Yikes, and I am only at 17.5 hours. Guess when it is due? Yep, the 31st! I am not going to have it completed by then. The company paid $185.00 for me to take it, so I am trying. Really! It is sooo boring!<br />
<br />
Anyhoo, just wanted to let you know I have survived the last couple of weeks!<br />
<br />
Have a safe and artful time, until I get back here!<br />
<br />

<br />
Just a short post about what is going on in my little world.<br />
<br />
Besides trying to have work done on my car, it is 10 years old and just starting to act a little tired. It has to live another 2 years! But with 185 + thousand miles on it.......we will see. I can't handle payments yet!<br />
<br />
And I am up to my neck in Dr appts and procedures, Yuk!<br />
<br />
AND, on Tuesday, my 6'4" baby boy is coming home for a week! So this weekend I have been trying to clean house some. And now at 4 pm on Sunday, it don't look too shabby. It will do! Jason is coming home now, cause he wants to be able to visit with his Grandparents. Since Grandma is 90 and Grandpa is 94, he has to come, since he won't be able to get back here for a few more years. But the sad part he is coming alone cause my DIL won't take the kids out of school now so close to the end of the year. I am not upset with that decision. I totally agree. So it will be a while longer before I see them, but I will live. So for the next week, I am going to be very very busy, with work and my son. Yikes!<br />
<br />
I wanted to share what I did yesterday with my art group.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dpVJNRKo6Og/UT0S0xSazVI/AAAAAAAACJ4/7N6p3b9soTg/s1600/Canvas.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dpVJNRKo6Og/UT0S0xSazVI/AAAAAAAACJ4/7N6p3b9soTg/s320/Canvas.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
It was so cool. We each had a canvas and made a background. Then we passed them to the person on the right of us, and we got 10 minutes to add stuff to that canvas and so on, we passed them every 10 minutes until our own got back to us. WOW!! I love it!<br />
<br />
Then after, me and my friend Arlene that was kind to give me a ride stopped at an estate sale and I picked up 2 Lincoln books:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6JseEo288S8/UT0UI0_dvxI/AAAAAAAACKA/RN4f-atBhcY/s1600/Lincoln+Book+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6JseEo288S8/UT0UI0_dvxI/AAAAAAAACKA/RN4f-atBhcY/s320/Lincoln+Book+1.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kObGzsdWXJA/UT0ULK1Xk-I/AAAAAAAACKI/Twk3sEmJw9A/s1600/Lincoln+Book+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kObGzsdWXJA/UT0ULK1Xk-I/AAAAAAAACKI/Twk3sEmJw9A/s320/Lincoln+Book+2.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Very cool and super cheap! YAY! And we also stopped at a Antique Sale out in the country that is only open 2 weeks a year! Yea, that's what we thought. Anyway, I bought these tin type photos there:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j0HOrn2s6-8/UT0Up7KgF6I/AAAAAAAACKU/AcUz7MiOzmQ/s1600/Tin+Types.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j0HOrn2s6-8/UT0Up7KgF6I/AAAAAAAACKU/AcUz7MiOzmQ/s320/Tin+Types.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Oops! sorry, I took it the wrong way with my Iphone. But they are cool! And I am now completely caught up with Downton Abbey! YAY! I cannot wait for Season 4 to begin I think in Sept! <br />
<br />
So that is what has been going on!<br />
<br />
I will be back after my son goes home and I will show ya some pics of his visit! He told me the first thing he wants to do is go to a 7-11 and get a chili cheese dog! WOW!<br />
<br />
Bye!<br />
<br />

<br />
I am really struggling lately with work, my health, and my Daddy's health. I am exhausted all of the time, because I can't be home every night I guess.<br />
<br />
I must get better myself before I can help others. So I REALLY need to get serious!<br />
<br />
Since the last time I have been here, I went to a <a href="http://kellykilmer.blogspot.com/">Kelly Kilmer</a> class in Fremont. I made a great new type of journal for me. More like a portfolio. Pretty cool! And I needed the break from work also. It was fun as always. I laughed alot, and I needed that more than anything else.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d86cFIFIuTM/UTLTCLl0GfI/AAAAAAAACJo/Vhe1vdkfhq0/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d86cFIFIuTM/UTLTCLl0GfI/AAAAAAAACJo/Vhe1vdkfhq0/s320/photo.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Other stuff going on, is I am now a Downton Abbey Junkie! OK, so yes I am very late getting into this DRAMA! But everyone has been talking about it on Facebook and Twitter, and the first season was on Netflix, so I watched it and now I am hooked! My friend Arlene, let me borrow her Season 2 & 3 DVD's today, so I can catch up with everyone else!<br />
<br />
I am also trying to get my art cave cleaned up....again! I need a craft maid! LOL Maybe someday I will get busier than I have been lately. It has been almost 2 years since I really was serious about cleaning in here! Yikes!<br />
<br />
Oh, I know you want to know what I am reading. Well, I am right now hooked on 30 & 40's pulp fiction detective books. Cool old Signet, etc paperbacks with the best images on the covers, that were 25 cents when new. I find them at the flea market and used bookstores. They absolutely smell terrific! I love the smell of old book paper!<br />
YUM! LOL<br />
<br />
Oh I am going to another arty class next Saturday. I believe we are going to do some arty stuffs on canvases!! Woot! Since I have never been much at creating on canvas, this should be fun!<br />
<br />
And one more thing before I go. This morning I saw our Big Boy Koi Fish, Homer, out of his pond laying on the lawn, deceased! And later my hubs found 2 more smaller gold fish dead on the ground also. I do believe we have a raccoon visiting at night! So there are 3 fishies left tonight. Let's see what I find in the morning . Hopefully happy swimming fishies!<br />
<br />
So that is about it. I know I have not been posting much lately and I apologize, but I will keep plugging along. Just hang in there with me!<br />
<br />
Bye!<br />

<br />
Those who know me, know that I take my day job very serious. And the last year it has been a struggle to stay afloat when the company I work for has conducted lay off's 3 times. I worry each and every day that I could get the tap on the shoulder and it will be over. But I keep working my brains out and so far I have survived. But that is enough of THAT drama.<br />
<br />
I actually took a junk journal class today with my local art group and it was fun. We made Junk Journals with a coil binding. Remember to click on the pics to make them larger.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_90jEIFMDIM/URcpwAWRQEI/AAAAAAAACGw/x_36QEbGFYw/s1600/Art+Finds+2-8-13+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_90jEIFMDIM/URcpwAWRQEI/AAAAAAAACGw/x_36QEbGFYw/s320/Art+Finds+2-8-13+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We used numerous junky type papers which included everything under the sun. These are a few of the papers I used, including a coffee filter for a pocket.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LkubwhgXmLA/URcqLXNDtQI/AAAAAAAACG4/7ZRoVOeCC_k/s1600/Art+Finds+2-8-13+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LkubwhgXmLA/URcqLXNDtQI/AAAAAAAACG4/7ZRoVOeCC_k/s320/Art+Finds+2-8-13+006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fkx3eBIOhNA/URcqTqMke_I/AAAAAAAACHA/no_mx6Etm8o/s1600/Art+Finds+2-8-13+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fkx3eBIOhNA/URcqTqMke_I/AAAAAAAACHA/no_mx6Etm8o/s320/Art+Finds+2-8-13+007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see at the bottom, I made it wonky, but I don't care. I had a fun time learning how to use the binding machine to punch the holes, stack the pieces and then run the coil into them so it was bound. Next time, even though I like different size papers and envelopes, etc. I will stick with the sme size papers until I get the hang of it. It is actually about 8.5 X 11.<br />
<br />
Anyway, since the store we meet at is an arts and crafts, school supply, 4-H Supplier, etc store, I always have to go shopping before we leave, and today was no exception. And OMG! I hit the Motherlode! Woot!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U2r6jHk0GDI/URcr0oDx0KI/AAAAAAAACHM/gK9_1otbhMw/s1600/Art+Finds+2-8-13+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U2r6jHk0GDI/URcr0oDx0KI/AAAAAAAACHM/gK9_1otbhMw/s320/Art+Finds+2-8-13+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Behold, the Motherlode as in Faber Castel Big Brush Pens!!! I almost fell over as these were in the 50% off discount bins. In packages of 4 each and I took all I could find, and at $7.15 a package, I could not resist. I bought 5 packages! I love these pens. And they work as stamp markers too, cool!<br />
<br />
And yesterday on my way home from the Bay Area, my car, instead of driving home all of a sudden went on detour and when it stoppped I was in Berkeley at Scrapbook Territory. WOW! I still don't know how that happened *wink*<br />
<br />
So these interesting items jumped into my hands and into the car:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hRzxQJfMEFM/URcvOKcygDI/AAAAAAAACII/Fj0fWZ82les/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hRzxQJfMEFM/URcvOKcygDI/AAAAAAAACII/Fj0fWZ82les/s320/002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The white handles are Doodle Rollers! So cool. One is a Chevron design and the other is an arrow design. Cool. You will also see 3 new stencils and a Rays rubber stamp in the back. The magazine you see is a new art journal magazine called Featuring and it comes from the UK and features newer lesser known artists. It is great and was waiting for me when I got home.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lZ__POej6-8/URcwGWiaQGI/AAAAAAAACIU/3E1GgrV_jT0/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lZ__POej6-8/URcwGWiaQGI/AAAAAAAACIU/3E1GgrV_jT0/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is a clearer shot of the new Dylusions rubber stamps I bought. I could not resist the skulls.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NDLG58KZnbs/URcwy_-otCI/AAAAAAAACIc/1Xy6R2UPh1c/s1600/Art+Finds+2-8-13+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NDLG58KZnbs/URcwy_-otCI/AAAAAAAACIc/1Xy6R2UPh1c/s320/Art+Finds+2-8-13+002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is some lucious Japanese Paper that my friend Bev brought me today from her recent trip to Japan. Woot!! The 2 white pieces are huge and the bottom piece is very heavy. So cool!<br />
<br />
And that, my friends is what I have been up to recently. I am doing my best to get back to the every weekend post, but to tell you the truth, I am exhausted on the weekends and don't want to do much.<br />
So now I am off to go read and relax and unwind before I will be able to sleep.<br />
<br />
And here I am now:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cG4TdeUHg-k/URcx8CgJzqI/AAAAAAAACJA/LiE7caoJ7MI/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cG4TdeUHg-k/URcx8CgJzqI/AAAAAAAACJA/LiE7caoJ7MI/s320/001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
