Starbux Addiction

Since I am such a Starbux Freek I saw this pic on Google Images and wanted it for this post.

Today, I saw where they are going to close more stores and 6000 more employees will lose their jobs. Although it said Barista's are safe, I wonder. I have a very good artist friend who works at one of the 'Bux in Chicago, and I sure don't want her to lose her job as she is working for the future benefits that she needs so desperately.

I am a Gold Card Member, which only means I get 10% off of each drink and sometimes I will get a special email with a coupon for $2.00 off of a drink. I love to go there at least once a day. I go for the atmosphere that I do not have at work or at home.

Mocha dreams.......................ahhh!!

Hi, My Name is Sharon and I'm a Blog Stalker

Just a few days ago, I was reading somewhere about a person who said they stalked blogs. I said to myself, OMG so do I. So I counted and found that I "STALK" 33 blogs multiple times a day, (at least 3 or 4 times). And they lead me to other great blogs that the owners show great journal pages from. I love to shop, so I love to look at blogs, like shopping. Yum, I never get enough. I am going to list my favorites on my blog as soon as I figure out how to do it.
This journal page is one from my squared Moleskine I made on the 4th of July 2006, cause I was off that day and wanted to try a journal page and had read on a blog about journaling in grids. It was fun to try to come up with different ideas for each grid. And back then I still could control my pen hoard and tried all of the different ones I had that day. Today I would have to have a few pages to practice with all of the pens I have.
If you click on the pic to enlarge it, look at the strip on the right side that connects two grids. That came from www.freewords.org. Go and check out the gazillion words that are there. These 6 words just happened to be together and made a cool sentence. Even if you don't use them like this, you may find some words you would have never thought of using ever! Well, I am off to do my morning "blog stalk". Have a great arty Sunday.

Hi all, this is actually a real live art journal page I created awhile ago, like in Feb 08. Yes and I haven't really made another.

So I know I have a huge problem with feelings that I don't know what to do when it comes to art journaling. I am pathetic. I love the concept, but again, feel inadequate.

I started 2009 with a new blog, this one, and said my new word this year is "Begin". But I have not. I have tons of materials, that, will never be a problem. I just don't think I can do it. I feel that I need to impress everyone, and I know that is totally silly.

So in May I am taking a Teesha Moore Journaling class. Then, I will be forced to journal, and being led by the queen of journaling, I should be able to breakout of my shell. (I hope). I have a friend that used to work where I do and is a scrapbook queen, and she has invited me to her crops she has at her house, but that is too frou frou for me. Too structured. I need to go nuts, but I still fear Rejection! There, I think I have hit on it. Why?? Ridiculous.

Journal Prompts in Strange Places

Thought I would show you a way to enhance your journaling and chocolate addictions all at the same time.

These are the wrappers from Dove Milk Chocolate's. Yummm!! And the cool part, as you can see is that every lucious mouth watering piece, has a little suprise in the wrapper. I call them journal prompts. Fun and yummy!! Click on the pic to enlarge it so you can read them.

Oh, and yes I ate the whole bag just so I could read and save these for this post. Well somebody had to do it, so they could be shared with you.

Always Something!!

I have not forgot about you but I have a very sore typing digit, so I don't want to make it worse trying to post. I don't know what I did but it is like very sore on the side of my index finger on my right hand, next to my nail at the tip. Yikes!! And of course I hit it on everything all of the time. It's been like this all weekend.

And since I have such a Starbux addiction, thought I would add this pic from an M.C. Escher drawing that someone messed with. I am a big Escher fan also and I actually like this. And yes, I am a Gold Card Holder!!

I Am Honored

WOW!! I have some great news today, first when I looked at my blog before getting on here to post, I saw I had two followers, Chris from http://prismtrail.blogspot.com/ and Suzan Buckner from http://thriftycollageartist.blogspot.com/. I am so excited. Thanx, ladies.

My next great news is in a short story: Last August I was enrolled in a class for work and I traveled to Riverside, CA for a week. On the same Friday of that week Teesha Moore was having a journal class beginning in Washington State. I wanted to go to that class soooo bad and work had gotten in the way, that I actually ALMOST booked a flight from Riverside to Washington that Friday and not come home. BUT I had to be at the journal class at 5:00pm that Friday and I didn't get out of my Supervisor class until 5:00pm, so of course I could not go. Teesha and I spoke by email and she said no way I could do that but she would always have another one, so of course I saw on her blog that she would have one again in Washington in May 09 and we could register in January. So today she posted that, that journal class will not be in Washington this year but in San Jose, CA only 100 miles from me!!!! So I am hoping to get registered soon and Oh Yea, I will be there this year, even though my husband wanted to go on a cruise that week, cause he is on vacation, but I have been on 3 cruises and have never had a chance to attend a Teesha Moore Journal Class, so guess which one I chose???? He had never made the reservations for the cruise yet anyway. Happy dance!!!

Now, my last bit of great news. I bought a Bind-It-All Machine. I want to make journals out of old books and use the book covers for the covers of the journals and fill them with found papers and of course some pages out of the books. Cool. I bought some like that recently at a Handborn art walk here and said, hey I can do that. I will post a pic of the binding machine as soon as I get the chance. Whew, this was a long post, but all good news. Goodnight!

Monsters & Journal Pals

This is my Monster collection. I love the really freaky, weird ones the best. In this pic, the two very small red striped one and the small black and white stripped one I got at Hot Topix at the mall, and i have always called those two my journal pals. They live in my home office all over the place, but close by so I can look, touch and talk to them. the big guy on the right has a cape and was made by a young girl and I bought him from her at the Earth Day Celebration last year. I love my Monster's.
